Every museum has a story about how it was built. This is the start of mine.

The floor plan

The museum has four wings. Mind holds notes, thoughts, and writings. Soul holds the Kaleidoscope and the objects that carry a story. Galleries holds collections of things worth noticing. Making Of is this room: the construction log.

The important decision was that everything here is one kind of thing: an entry. An entry is a few images and the words that go with them. Rooms are just ways of grouping entries, so one piece can hang in two rooms at once. Any entry can link to any other by writing its title in double brackets, and every entry shows the threads that lead to it.

The tools

• Astro builds the site from plain text files and photos.
• Cloudflare Pages will host it for free.
• GitHub keeps every version of every file.
• Claude wrote most of the code while I directed and learned.

The palette

The colors came from my own photographs: cobalt from a chapel window, crimson and gold from a carved Star Ceiling, walnut from a Conoid Chair, pink from a Lotus, orange and lavender from a River at Dusk.
